Welcome To Mike Powell Benefit Year 2011

Mike's debut for Glamorgan was back in 1997, he was 20 years old and determined to make a name in the world of professional cricket

Fourteen years later Mike is continuing a very successful career with the Welsh County and has contributed towards some truly iconic Glamorgan moments including playing in the Benson & Hedges Lords Cup Finals in 2000, becoming Norwich Union League Champions in 2002 and 2004 and winning the County Championship in 1997.

A word from the man himself:

"I am extremely grateful to be awarded a Benefit Year this year, not only is it a huge privilege, but also a way for me to share my career so far with all the people that have supported me over the years. A benefit is a great privilege, it not only represents the amount of time you have played but the level of success you have achieved – something not to be taken lightly and something that all professional sportsman strive for"
